In this episode of Retail Right Now, Total Retail's Joe Keenan and Kristina Stidham discuss the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday and what retail trends we can expect to see this year. The UPS issued its first “UPS Pulse Perspectives: Mother’s Day Survey” to better understand how consumers are preparing for the first major gift-giving holiday of spring 2021. The UPS survey revealed that more than one-third of Americans will still be shipping their Mother’s Day presents this year.

Forty-two percent of respondents said they planned to shop online for Mother’s Day gifts. Shopping in-person and local was the next most popular way of shopping for the holiday. Furthermore, the survey revealed some generational themes for shopping for mom as well. Retailers can utilize this data to tailor their Mother’s Day order fulfillment and shipping promotions to capture those last-minute shoppers.
