eBay Rolls Out New Homepage Design for All Users

The e-commerce and payments giant officially rolled out its website redesign, the biggest change in its history. eBay first introduced the new features, which it says creates a more personalized experience, in October. Since that time, eBay has allowed site visitors to opt in for the new design. Starting yesterday, users no longer have the option to use the older design, but eBay says the new site is "more intuitive." One feature, dubbed Feed, curates a user's favorite items on a personalized page and displays the images in a setup very similar to Pinterest's layout. 

Amazon Launches Collectibles Store

Amazon.com has launched the Entertainment Collectibles Store, which offers more than 350,000 unique and rare collectibles, including memorabilia from Academy Award- and Grammy-winning artists and honorees. Amazon shoppers can browse collectibles by item type, entertainment type, autographed, price and year to find everything from classic photographs and original manuscripts to signed artist contracts and autographed movie posters.

hhgregg announced that it's launched a "Price Match Guarantee" to ensure that its customers receive the lowest advertised prices on merchandise both in-store and online, for up to 30 days after the date of purchase. Under the new program, hhgregg will match competitors' lowest advertised prices on in-stock merchandise of the same make and model, up to 30 days after a purchase. The guarantee applies to local brick-and-mortar competitors as well as a list of major online retailers. Customers do not need to bring sales flyers to the store, as sales associates can verify competitive pricing.

Amazon to Launch Virtual Currency

Amazon.com plans to put tens of millions of dollars into the hands of its customers this spring. Instead of cash, the money will be in the form of Amazon Coins, a virtual currency recently announced by the online retailer. The new scrip will be made available to Amazon customers for use with the company's entertainment tablet, Kindle Fire. Shoppers can spend Amazon Coins in the Amazon Appstore on games and apps. At launch, only U.S. customers will be able to buy and spend Amazon Coins.
