New Catalog Class?
Another possibility for catalog mailers would be a whole new class of mail, just for them, that would receive reduced service for lower postage. For example, catalogs would be delivered three days a week in this mail class. The USPS could be amenable to such an agreement, Kearney said, but it would have to make sound business sense for the USPS, he added.
