Negotiate list fees. List fees are becoming excessive — but they're negotiable. Try to get as much as possible on exchange (today, up to 50 percent of all list orders are on exchange). And negotiate list charges by giving your list broker guidelines for what you'll pay for a specific list based, if possible, on past/expected performance.
