Wal-Mart Stores Inc. this week announced that it promoted three officers within its U.S. technology and global platforms organization. Fiona Tan is now senior vice president leading the U.S. customer technology organization; Jaya Kolhatkar is now senior vice president leading the global data and analytics platform organization; and Jae Evans is now vice president leading the global technical engineering and operations organization.
Previously, Tan led the Sam’s Club and international e-commerce tech teams, and provided strategy, planning and operations for @WalmartLabs. Since 2013, Kolhatkar headed the data and analytics teams for Wal-Mart’s e-commerce business, and took over responsibility for the company's in-store data back in January. Evans will continue to oversee the core infrastructure services and customer reliability operations of Wal-Mart's worldwide e-commerce sites, in addition to taking on responsibility for infrastructure engineering across stores, distribution centers, clubs and the home office.
"What’s most exciting about these promotions is the added benefit it brings our customers,” says Wal-Mart CTO Jeremy King. “These roles span across the customer experience – from learning more about them, to taking them on a seamless in-store and online journey, to protecting them, and making sure we're always available to serve them."
