Kip Fulks, co-founder of Under Armour, is taking a sabbatical, the company announced earlier this week.
Fulks is exercising a benefit available to all Under Armour employees with 10 or more years of service, said the company. The Baltimore Sun reports Fulks’ departure is coming at a critical period of transition for Under Armour, which has been seeking efficiencies since it announced it would cut 280 jobs, about 2 percent of its global workforce.
This week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Under Armour was considering exiting some relatively small sports categories such as tennis. The company declined comment on the report.
