On Tuesday, Tiger Woods announced a partnership with TaylorMade Golf to create a new lifestyle brand, Sun Day Red. According to the brand's website, the line "promises to bring a new and elevated standard to performance wear and luxury lifestyle fashion." Sun Day Red will be a completely stand-alone brand with a dedicated team of designers and staff, as well as its own headquarters in San Clemente, California. The brand will launch its first line of apparel for men on May 1, and will be made available online in the U.S. and Canada. Over time, Sun Day Red will expand its availability in key markets outside of North America, at retail, and broaden its product offering to include footwear, women’s and kids’ lines. Tiger Woods and TaylorMade first joined forces in 2017 with a multiyear equipment endorsement agreement.
Total Retail's Take: One of if not the biggest name in sports has a new venture. Tiger Woods is moving on from his split with Nike. Just last month, Woods and Nike announced they were ending their 27-year partnership, and the golf champion teased "another chapter" to come. Woods has found his next apparel partner in TaylorMade Golf, aligning on a common goal to create innovative performance wear and luxury lifestyle fashion.
Woods will have a significant influence in Sun Day Red's products, according to a company press release. "I have a lifetime of experience adjusting my apparel and footwear to help me play better based on the way it was constructed," said Woods. "I’m ready to share those secrets with the world."
The Sun Day Red logo incorporates Woods' 15 major championship wins within the design of the signature brand tiger, which has 15 stripes. This isn't just the release of a new apparel line, claims the Sun Day Red website. "it's the start of a new chapter in the Tiger Woods saga."
