Kellogg Company recently announced the election of Carter Cast to its board of directors. As Kellogg continues to grow its presence online, Cast brings extensive experience in the digital arena. He previously helped build and then lead Walmart.com as its CEO. Cast also was the CEO of online retail company Hayneedle, Inc.; led the launch of the Blue Nile brand, the online jewelry retailer; and previously served as chief marketing officer at eBay.
"His innovative leadership in e-commerce and digital marketing, paired with his entrepreneurial vision and experience in the consumer packaged goods industry will be of great benefit to our company," said John Bryant, chairman and CEO of Kellogg.
Cast currently is on faculty at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where he's a clinical professor teaching entrepreneurship, innovation and marketing. In addition, he's a venture partner at Pritzker Group Venture Capital that invested in Dollar Shave Club, The Honest Company and SMS Assist.
