Households with income less than $50,000 are bearing a greater burden from high gas prices, with 82 percent of consumers in that group saying they are the same or worse off financially than this time last year, according to BIGresearch’s August Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey. On the other hand, 78 percent of households with income greater than $50,000 felt they were the same or better off financially than this time last year.
