Earlier this week, Francesca’s Holdings Corporation announced the departure of Laurie Hummel, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, after less than two years on the job.
Steve Lawrence, president and CEO of Francesca's, said during an earnings call, “We have a lot of talent in our merchandising team and are confident in their ability to execute our strategy as we search for a new chief merchant. During this period, the team will report directly to me. We wish Laurie well in her future endeavors.”
The reason for Hummel’s departure wasn't disclosed. Hummel joined Francesca’s from Kohl’s, where she was the senior vice president and divisional merchandise manager. Prior to that, Hummel worked at Stage Stores, overseeing junior sportswear and intimate apparel.
