By the Stats: IT Staffing

Information technology specialists in help desk/end-user support are experiencing the greatest job growth opportunities among technology professionals, according a recent survey by Robert Half Technology, a provider of computing professionals. Other findings from the national poll of 1,400 chief information officers (CIOs):

¥ 81 percent expect to maintain current IT staff levels.
¥ 14 percent expect to add full-time IT staffers.
¥ 3 percent anticipate staff reductions.

Of the CIOs expecting to add staff members, 38 percent cited business expansion as the leading factor driving IT hiring.
