It’s easy to get lost in Target and miss the retailer’s best deals and products. Jen Coleman and Laura Wiertzema have created the @TargetDoesItAgain Instagram account to act as personal shoppers for Target customers. The account, with well over 500,000 followers, features hidden gems found in Target stores by the ladies. This idea has caught on — similar accounts for Costco and Wal-Mart have been created.
Total Retail’s Take: I once followed @TargetDoesItAgain on Instagram, but had to unfollow because I loved everything and I found myself in Target way too much. These women are great brand advocates for Target. The account is trustworthy, real and relatable — as the size of its following suggests. @TargetDoesItAgain has organically helped the retailer build a relationship with customers. Brand advocates are great for any retailer, and an easy search on social media can show you who’s talking about your brand. Use that information to develop some brand advocates of your own.
