Beyond Inc., parent company to Overstock.com, Bed Bath & Beyond, and other online brands, announced Tuesday three leadership changes, including two new CEOs.
Chandra Holt, formerly the CEO and president of Conn's Home Plus, will become the new CEO of Bed Bath & Beyond effective Wednesday. Dave Nielsen, who until now was serving as president and interim CEO of Overstock, will take over formally as CEO of the company. Adrianne Lee, currently the chief financial officer of Beyond Inc., will expand her responsibilities to include chief administrative officer.
"As the company — which rebranded from Overstock.com to Beyond in November — continues to evolve, these executive changes were designed to position both the Bed Bath & Beyond and Overstock brands for growth and success into the future," the company said a press release announcing the leadership changes.
Total Retail's Take: Overstock.com acquired the Bed Bath & Beyond brand and associated intellectual property on June 28. The Overstock business rebranded shortly thereafter. Holt and Nielsen have their work cut out for them as they navigate the changes recently affecting the brands, including a bankruptcy filing, subsequent layoffs, store closures, and the acquisition.
