It’s hard for retailers to know what day and time works best for posts on different social channels, so TrackMaven tracked 17.5 million posts from over 17,000 brands between January and July 2016. The company determined that:
- Social posts at the close of a work day (in Eastern Time) at the tail of the week performed the best on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
- Pinterest posts get the best traction on Fridays at 1 a.m.
- LinkedIn posts had the advantage when made midweek at 9 a.m.
- Retail brands had the most success when posting at 11 a.m. on Friday on Twitter, and at 1 a.m. on Monday on Facebook.
Total Retail’s Take: The timing of your brand’s social posts could be a big factor in this year’s holiday shopping season. A survey from G/O Digital found that more than 55 percent of consumers have their holiday shopping influenced in some way by brands’ social media posts. Make sure you're staying engaged with consumers on social media to get those holiday sales and build relationships.
