Shopping for home goods and accessories is about to become a little more fun in Brooklyn, NY. Bed Bath & Beyond plans to add a restaurant serving wine and beer in its 120,000-square-foot Liberty View Industrial Plaza store. Shoppers can now sip a refreshing beverage as they browse the aisles for blenders, vacuums or towels. The restaurant can also be accessed by other tenants in the Salmar Properties-owned project, including Saks and Amazon.
Total Retail’s Take: Sources told the New York Post that the opening of this café will be on Black Friday — perfect timing! After waiting in those lines and dealing with sale-crazed consumers, shoppers will need a glass of wine to take the edge off. Bed Bath & Beyond is bringing its Buy Buy Baby, Cost Plus World Market grocery and Harmon cosmetics divisions together in one space for a new concept store that should attract a wide range of consumers.
