Amazon Launchpad announced last week the creation of a Kickstarter Collection, featuring more than 300 Kickstarter products available for purchase on Amazon.com. Startups featured include Piper, Zivix, Prynt, MudWatt, among others. Consumers shopping the Kickstarter Collection can browse categories such as electronics, wireless accessories, home and kitchen, books, movies and TV, and toys and games, as well as themes such as STEM products, Always Be Learning, Exquisite Objects, Inventing The Future, and Public Benefit.
Total Retail's Take: Amazon has done it again. The Kickstarter Collection is really part two of the retail behemoth's already successful Launchpad service, which debuted last year and since has worked with more than 100 venture capital firms, startup accelerators and crowdfunding platforms to help more than 1,000 startups launch products worldwide. The Amazon Launchpad program offers a streamlined onboarding experience for startups, including custom product pages, a marketing package and access to Amazon’s global fulfillment network, all geared toward helping startups successfully launch their innovations and share their stories.
