1-800-Flowers.com announced yesterday the launch of a new gifting brand, Goodsey. PYMNTS.com reports Goodsey, described by its parent company as a perfect place for “gifting and wishing,” will feature unique items across a wide range of product categories. According to 1-800-Flowers.com, shopping on Goodsey will be a “fun-filled experience of exploration, discovery and delight” that will make it easy for consumers to find a unique gift. Some of the product categories to be offered on Goodsey include home decor, outdoor living, jewelry, customizable fragrances and more. Goodsey is the third new brand that 1-800-Flowers.com has added to its portfolio within the last year.
Total Retail's Take: 1-800-Flowers.com has targeted gifting as a growth opportunity, and that includes expansion into new product categories for the traditional floral retailer. When taking a further look at what Goodsey offers, it seems the product partnerships rival those on Etsy. Chris McCann, CEO of 1-800-Flowers.com, emphasized that while Goodsey brings product expansion, its primary value to the organization will be customer acquisition.
