Macy's to Host a New York Fashion Week Show of Its Own

Macy's may be a national go-to for accessible style, but it's explored more high-fashion territory multiple times before, like when it partnered with Made Fashion Week for an ongoing collaboration and with Karl Lagerfeld for a much-hyped capsule collection. But now, the retail giant is set to take on New York Fashion Week, with a runway show of its own at one of the city's largest, best-known venues, the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

On Monday, the company announced that it will stage a production called “Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row” on Sept. 17, complete with a 150-look runway show, celebrities, musical acts and dance numbers. This Thursday evening affair will close out the jam-packed New York Fashion Week calendar, and will follow a day of shows from some of the most renowned American designers: Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs.
