lululemon founder (and one of Canada’s richest self-made billionaires) Chip Wilson rarely gives in-depth interviews, and probably for good reason. Confronted about the cult yoga clothier’s costly product recall during a now-infamous 2013 TV spot, Wilson stumbled through an answer, blaming not lululemon’s black Luon material for being too sheer but instead women’s thighs and their tendency to touch. “Quite frankly, some women’s bodies just actually don’t work,” the former surfer explained in the disastrous Bloomberg TV interview. “It’s about the rubbing through the thighs,” said Wilson, and “how much pressure is there.”
