Kohl's Taps Rising Walgreens Exec as COO

Kohl's Corp. on Tuesday tabbed a rising Walgreens executive to fill the new post of chief operating officer — and to potentially become CEO. Sona Chawla, who has been president of digital and chief marketing officer at Walgreens, will join Kohl's on Nov. 30. She will take on broad responsibility over the nationwide retailer's operations and report directly to CEO Kevin Mansell. Along with Michelle Gass, who came to Kohl's in 2013 from Starbucks and now is chief merchandising and customer officer, Chawla is a prime candidate to become the next top executive of the $19 billion company.
