Family Dollar to Open 300 Stores

Matthews, N.C.-based discount chain Family Dollar Stores Inc. plans to open 300 new stores in 2011 — double the amount of stores it opened in 2010 — according to The Charlotte Observer. "Leveraging our niche of value and convenience, we're working aggressively to broaden our appeal," said Howard Levine, chairman and CEO of Family Dollar.
