Consumer spending in the United States rose more than forecast in August as households saw a surge in cash at their disposal, according to government data released Friday. Consumer spending rose 0.4% from July, the second straight month of increases after stagnating in June, according to seasonally adjusted data from the Commerce Department. The gain exceeded the 0.3% increase projected by economists.Income were up 0.5% , the biggest advance this year, propelled by the resumption of extended and emergency unemployment benefits as wage gains cooled.�
