It seems appropriate that news about Amazon.com's latest social media feature was broken on social networking site Twitter. Rich DeMuro of Techmeme.com wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, "Cool! Amazon now connects with Facebook for recommendations, birthday reminders, gift suggestions & more http://amzn.to/dCy0lW." The TechCrunch blog quickly picked up the news. Upon signing in to Amazon.com, users are greeted with a message from the company inviting them to connect to Facebook to get Amazon recommendations and discover friends' Favorites and Likes.
