Location Matters in Online Video Retail Ads, Survey Finds

Last week we talked about how online retailers can improve the view rates for their videos, as well as how some retailers are finding that online video is significantly boosting sales. To add to the conversation, here are some additional tidbits on how retailers can drive even more revenue using online video ads and content, according to a survey of online video viewers conducted by video ad technology company Videology.

According to Shop It To Me's data, Labor Day weekend 2011 offered discounts averaging more than 48 percent off on clothing, shoes and accessories on sale online. That was significantly better than the average discounts on Black Friday and Cyber Monday (for clothing, shoes and accessories on sale online), when we tracked discounts averaging 41 percent to 42 percent off.

The shopping mall in the sky is getting bigger by about 300 million items, but you won't find them in the SkyMall catalog or on the duty-free cart. Fliers on Delta Air Lines and Virgin America can now use the in-flight Wi-Fi provided by Gogo to get free access to eBay any time they're above 10,000 feet.
