Facebook beats out Pinterest and Twitter for driving the most traffic to retail sites. Facebook makes up for a staggering 86 percent of retail traffic, while Pinterest drives 12 percent and Twitter 3 percent, according to an infographic by e-commerce consultant RichRelevance. To be fair, Facebook has the most users of the three. Still, it's interesting to see Facebook driving so much retail traffic given recent doubts about whether it's useful for retailers.

Send the Trend, the e-commerce site acquired by QVC in February, has relaunched to provide a broader range of premier beauty and accessory products. According to a press release, Send the Trend leverages proprietary technology — with unique algorithms — to deliver monthly, personalized shopper recommendations filled from an expanded product assortment, including Send the Trend branded collections and selections from QVC's diverse product portfolio of prestige brands in jewelry, fashion accessories, beauty, hair care and skin care categories.
An "exponential" growth in shopping via smartphones and an increasing customer awareness of price promotions are some of the key retail trends identified by separate new reports from eBay and Nielsen. According to the latest eBay Online Business Index, nearly half of Australia's top eBay businesses said they would optimize online content for mobile. Almost a quarter (24 percent) said they would develop a mobile website, while more than 20 percent said they would develop a mobile app. According to eBay Vice President Deborah Sharkey, mobile commerce in Australia is growing at an exponential rate.
