Topeka, Kan.-based Payless ShoeSource Inc., a division of Collective Brands Inc., has signed franchise deals with Grupo AXO and MAP ACTIVE to bring the retail chain to Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, according to Reuters.

Limited Brands CEO Sees Sales Up Four-fold

NEW YORK -- Limited Brands Inc. , the parent of Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works, could double the size of its about $9 billion in U.S. sales over the next five years, Chief Executive Leslie Wexner said at a meeting with analysts and investors in New York on Wednesday. The Columbus, Ohio-based company, which only in recent years started to experiment with international expansion, also has the potential to reap another $20 billion in sales outside of North America, Wexner said. Limited Brands shares rose 1.6% in midday trading. They've risen more than half this year.

Target Spotlights Smaller Stores

Target has reconfigured its smaller stores to fit its P-fresh format, introduced earlier in the year. The new stores will feature 90 percent of the categories found at a SuperTarget, but with much less of a selection.

 


REI appoints real estate and store development executive

Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) announced that Mark K. Comstock has joined the co-op in the newly created role of VP real estate and store development. Comstock most recently served as VP real estate and facilities for T-Mobile USA.Mark’s leadership responsibilities include new store site acquisition and development, management of REI’s growing companywide portfolio of real estate assets, and facilities management of the co-op’s headquarters in Kent, Wash. The company currently operates 113 stores nationwide. It will open a store in Columbia, Md., in November.
