NIWOT - Casual footwear company Crocs Inc. (Nasdaq: CROX) has opened two new retail stores in Puerto Rico. The Niwot-based shoemaker's Plaza Carolina store opened in capital San Juan. Its Plaza Las Americas store opened in the Hato Rey district of the capital. Crocs previously opened stores in northern city Barceloneta, and in capital district Old San Juan earlier this year. "Puerto Rico is a great market for Crocs and a very strong footwear market," said Doug Hayes, vice president and general manager of Americas for Crocs. Canadian retailer Hudson's Bay Company has entered into a direct-to-retail deal with MG Icon, the joint venture between Madonna and Iconix Brand Group, to bring juniors' brand Material Girl in stores. The deal sees Canada as the first country outside of the U.S. to carry the brand, which is currently available exclusively at Macy's. Initial offerings will begin hitting 91 Bay stores for the holiday. The complete collection will include tops, dresses, jackets, denim, shorts, footwear and handbags for spring 2011.
