Shoppers with an iPhone or iPad 2 can use their device to scan the scene around five famous landmarks to find the storeโ€™s selection of party dresses โ€” and once located, they can virtually try them on a picture of themselves, share and even order.

Retail groups demand 'e-fairness' in sales tax collection

WASHINGTON โ€“ A host of retail groups, retailers and retail property firms have called on the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, known as the "Super Committee," to give states more leverage to collect sales taxes from Internet retailers and catalog merchants. About 70 national and state retail organizations and more than 60 retailers and retail property companies have signed a letter to the Super Committee that urges lawmakers to eliminate a loophole that prohibits states from requiring remote sellers to collect sales and use taxes owed on purchases from out-of-state vendors. True Value profit rises 3.4% in Q3

Chicago -- True Value Co. reported Tuesday that profit for the third quarter increased 3.4% to $18.1 million, compared with $17.5 million in the year-ago period. Revenue rose 3.6% to $445.7 million, from $430.2 million. According to the cooperative, 788,000 sq. ft. of retail space has been covered to its recommended Destination True Value prototype so far this fiscal year, up 13.5 % from 694,000 sq. ft. last year.
