Italy-based fashion brand Bottega Veneta opened a womenโ€™s-only store in New York on Nov. 5, according to www.wwd.com. Situated at 849 Madison Ave., the 2,000-sq.-ft. store represents a new retail concept that segregates the sexes. Standout design features include walls covered in suede, door handles sheathed in leather and a pair of leather sofas that were designed in collaboration with high-end furniture company Poltrona Frau. Footwear retailer Foot Locker worked with Lumacoustics to develop interactive software that allows customers to design and customize their own New Era hats on 32-inch touchscreen monitors in-store. The screens, which are situated in the New Era display area in the Foot Locker store, offer a blank hat template for users to โ€œpaintโ€ on designs and pictures using a wide variety of different colors and stencils. Foot Locker visitors can also browse through New Eraโ€™s history and other information. The screens are currently being trialed in Milan, Paris and London stores, where initial consumer feedback is showing the system
