Wal-Mart Investigates Overseas Corruption

Wal-Mart is investigating potential corruption in its overseas practices, the company said. In a quarterly report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Wal-Mart said it began an internal investigation โ€œinto whether certain matters, including permitting, licensing and inspections, were in compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act,โ€ and that it had already taken unspecified remedial measures in relation to the investigation. The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act prohibits bribery and enforces accounting standards for U.S. companies doing international business.

Backlash for Lowe's as Ads Pulled From Muslim Show

Lowe's has found itself facing a backlash after the retail giant pulled ads from a reality show about American Muslims. Lowe's stopped advertising on TLC's "All-American Muslim" after the Florida Family Association complained, saying the program was "propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values."

Macyโ€™s extends store hours for holiday shopping

New York City -- Macyโ€™s said Monday it has brought back its โ€œ24-hourโ€ stores for three all-nighters beginning Dec. 21. Starting at 7 a.m., 14 Macyโ€™s stores will stay open for 83 hours straight for non-stop shopping until Christmas Eve on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. Another 27 Macyโ€™s stores will stay open until 2 a.m. on those same three nights. โ€œOur 24-hour stores have been a hit with holiday shoppers for the past five years,โ€ said Ron Klein, chief stores officer, Macyโ€™s. โ€œOur customers have told us when they want to shop, and after-hours and overnight shopping comes
