HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Reuters news service has reported that the shareholders of Sears Holding Corp. will end up with 80% of the common stock in Orchard Supply Hardware stores, following an attempt to spin off the California hardware chain into a separate unit. According to a regulatory filing, every 22.14 shares of Sears stock will entitle a holder to get one class A share and one preferred share of the new, separate company. Quad/Graphics has signed a multiyear agreement with Bluestem Brands, best known for its growing Fingerhut and Gettington.com brands. The agreement, which will exceed $135 million over its contract term, covers all printing, paper procurement, premedia, and page layout and production services as well as all product photography and video content creation services.

Hair product brand TRESemmé hit a huge customer relations snafu when an email offering free samples to a few hundred email subscribers was accidentally sent out to tons of fans and posted on its Facebook page. After thousands of people contacted TRESemmé about collecting their free samples, the company realized that it made a mistake and began to backtrack.

Four St. Louis-area Pro Image Sports stores gave away hundreds of Albert Pujols shirts and jerseys for free after Pujols balked at the Cardinals’ offer and signed with the Los Angeles Angels for a 10-year, $254 million deal. Illinois House leaders have agreed to pass tax breaks in order to keep Sears Holdings Corp. from abandoning its Hoffman Estates, Ill., headquarters in search of a new out-of-state home, according to Reuters.
